Connecting 3,000+ tech leaders, Taiwan Next bridges Silicon Valley and Asia through cutting-edge AI forums, cross-border recruiting, and deep tech demo days.

SANTA CLARA, CA, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- SANTA CLARA, CA. — North America's premier in-person Taiwanese technology convention, Taiwan Tech Summit 2026, officially commenced at the Santa Clara Convention Center, celebrating its milestone fifth anniversary as an enduring operational bridge linking Asia’s hardware powerhouse with America’s compute and venture capital hubs. Organized by the TaiwanNext Foundation (Taiwan Next) and co-organized by the National Development Council (NDC), Talent Taiwan, Startup Island Taiwan SV Hub, and the Industrial Technology Investment Corporation (ITIC), the annual gathering convened more than 3,000 industry professionals, founders, and investors under the central theme "Next AI Era: Connecting Innovation and Talents."

The summit opened with high-level bilateral representations from industry and government, reflecting deep cross-border commitment. Taiwan Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao delivered opening remarks via a congratulatory video, while NDC Minister Chun-sien Yeh, ITRI Chairman Cheng-Chung Wu, and Director-General David Chih-Hsiang Wu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco attended in person to deliver opening speeches. Together, they inaugurated an integrated three-pillar program spanning executive innovation forums, global venture pitch showcases, and an international enterprise recruitment expo.

Innovation Forums: Physical AI and Agentic AI Architecture
Addressing the next wave of compute infrastructure during the Innovation Forums, Arm Vice President CK Tseng and Phison Electronics CTO Wei Lin delivered headline keynote presentations. Tseng analyzed evolving architecture requirements for scalable AI deployment, while Lin detailed technical breakthroughs in custom storage controllers tailored for low-latency generative AI inference workloads. The technical discussions expanded across two specialized panels: an Agentic AI Forum examining enterprise automation alongside former Google DeepMind executives, and a Physical AI Forum featuring ITRI Vice President Chih-I Wu and Stanford Professor Edward Y. Chang, who explored world models, embodied intelligence, and software-hardware synergy between American chip designers and Taiwanese manufacturers.

Taiwan Demo Day: ITIC Award and Global Deep Tech Pipeline
Simultaneously, the summit served as an active capital marketplace through Taiwan Demo Day, organized in partnership with Startup Island Taiwan SV Hub. The platform, which runs biannual cohorts aligned with NVIDIA GTC in the spring and the autumn summit in late September, has showcased more than 60 emerging companies to date—including Y Combinator alumni, NVIDIA-backed MetAI, and enterprise AI startup Insforge. This year's edition introduced the inaugural ITIC Award, offering $18,000 in equity-free prize funding evaluated by venture partners from ITIC, Google Cloud, Applied Ventures, and Tesoro VC in front of an audience of over 250 Silicon Valley investors.

Twelve international finalists selected from more than 100 applications across Silicon Valley, Seattle, Texas, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom presented on stage, with over 75 percent focusing on deep tech and physical AI across semiconductors, photonics, autonomous drones, AI cybersecurity, biotechnology, and sports tech. BloodScan Biotech earned first place and $10,000 for its microfluidic cancer early-screening platform. Second place and $5,000 were awarded to LongLink Solutions for its anti-jamming drone communication links, while HEXAspec Inc. secured third place and $3,000 for its high thermal conductivity packaging materials for next-generation AI processors.

Taiwan Career Day: Full-Scale International Recruitment Platform
Anchoring the summit's human capital initiative, Taiwan Career Day integrated the national Talent Taiwan program to drive cross-border engineering mobility and offer on-site consultations for the Taiwan Employment Gold Card. More than 30 multinational technology leaders—including TSMC, Micron, MediaTek, Foxconn, Delta Electronics, Applied Materials, Wistron, Phison, and Lite-On—conducted active hiring on site. The recruitment pavilion featured dedicated one-on-one speed interview tracks hosted by Micron and ITRI, resume mentorship led by senior engineers from NVIDIA, Amazon, and Meta, and specialized career tracks covering Global Talent Taiwan, AI, biotechnology, and applied AI. Demonstrating its establishment as a mainstream talent channel, the expo drew top graduate candidates from Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University, with non-Chinese-speaking applicants accounting for 28 percent of total job seekers.

"Our mission is to build an ongoing platform where high-barrier deep tech innovations and elite cross-border talents find direct synergy with global capital and enterprise scale," stated Katie Hsieh, Chair of Taiwan Next. With five years of sustained growth, the foundation continues to institutionalize this bilateral corridor, aligning Silicon Valley's venture ecosystem with Taiwan's advanced manufacturing and engineering capabilities.
